masters thesisMaster Thesis: Head-coupled Mobile See-Through AR Human-Computer Interaction Lab Hasso Plattner Institute 2011
The concept of head-coupled video see-through is based on the metaphor of a virtual window into the reconstructed world. Combined observer and environment tracking is applied to modify the reconstructed scene according to the relative 3D user head position using off-axis rendering.

imaginary interfacesImaginary Interfaces Human-Computer Interaction Lab Hasso Plattner Institute 2010
The Imaginary Interface prototype senses spatial interaction of the user with a chest-worn fisheye camera. The screen-less device provides no visual feedback. Despite this, users can interact effectively as their hand movements are maintained in their visual short-term memory. The gestures of the user's empty hands are processed and wirelessly transmitted to produce visual output for a remote communication partner.

offscreen pinching smallOff-screen Pinching Interaction Human-Computer Interaction Lab Hasso Plattner Institute 2009
Explores the use of spatial memory to enhance the interaction with mobile devices. The extension of the interaction to off-screen space is a good opportunity to enable users to manipulate applications based on new interaction paradigms. As a result, users will be able to involve the environment in their close proximity.

Software Visualization

softvis bundle smallVisualizing Hierarchy and Call Relations in Software Systems Computer Graphics Group, Hasso Plattner Institute 2010
The Circular Bundle View visualization provides an overview of the static project structure and static call relations among components of the software system. The visual exploration of the software project reveals the distribution of modules, the size (LOC) of individual components and the relations shared among them.

test coverageStructure-Aware Treemap-Based Test Coverage Representation Computer Graphics Group Hasso Plattner Institute 2009
The software visualization technique aids the test coverage and maintenance of large scale software projects during the development process. We strongly focused on presenting project structures in a comprehensible way that can be interactively explored. We capture the test coverage data through dynamic analysis. The obtained coverage results are mapped as color metrics to the static structure of a software project.

Computer Graphics

3d interaction widget3D Interaction Widget Computer Graphics Group Hasso Plattner Institute 2008
The ever-growing use of 3D graphics and the possibility of realtime interaction poses a need for methods which support manipulation tasks of 3D objects within the 3D virtual environments. The 3D interaction widget is a simple and direct manipulation controller which supports interaction tasks performed by novel and experienced users.

bachelors thesisGlove-based Puppet Interaction Bauhaus-University Weimar 2008
Is an approach to physically based realtime glove controlled pupped animation used in children television. The combination of the developed animation framework with data glove allows artists to animate virtual puppets exactly as if they had their hand inside a real-world puppet.

eye based interactionEye-based Interaction Bauhaus-University Weimar 2007
The goal of the eye-typing research project was to develop alternative and more efficient gaze controlled text-editor systems. After all the application gained most effort through reduction of dwell time which allows smooth eye movements while typing by gaze.

Information Visualization

databasevis3D MySQL Database Visualizer Bauhaus-University Weimar 2007

Provides 3D information visualization of any remotely connected MySQL database. The entity relationships are outlined as flexible curves to visualize key-based relations. Detailed information about selected tables or entities are presented as tabular data-sets for further use.
